Turandot

 CUT Università di FiscianoCome si sa, la Turandot di Brecht non è la crudele principessa, superba, 'avversa al sesso mascolin', dalla bellezza inimitabile della fiaba di Gozzi. È invece una donna appassionata, carnale, giocosa a cui piacciono gli intellettuali. Una bella formulazione o una frase ben tornita la fa eccitare. Lei crede di trovare il suo amore tra i maggiori intellettuali di corte (i TUI, acronimo di Tellekt-ual-ins) ma alla fine - visto che i grandi pensatori non hanno saputo con il loro ingegno e la loro intelligenza risolvere il problema - si innamorerà di un bandito che vive di rapine e di estorsioni, un TUI rozzo e depravato, ma uomo 'di polso'. Con leggerezza e umorismo si racconta come penetrano in noi certe idee, come si creano i pregiudizi: se il TUI-pensiero è falso (o inutile o dannoso), la soluzione è "il pensiero è falso", meglio non-pensare (senza distinguere tra il pensiero giusto e quello falso). Epilogo: il popolo è doppiamente ingannato e viene sconfitto a causa dei TUI corrotti e lestofanti. Per i giovani studenti che si sono fidati di me e che ringrazio, che si preparano e studiano per essere gli intellettuali del futuro, Turandot mi è sembrato il pre-testo più adatto. Per la messinscena ci siamo attenuti alla raccomandazione di Brecht: «il ritmo della recitazione deve essere rapido». Una scenografia essenziale fa da sostegno al susseguirsi delle scene, un "indiavolato carosello, quasi un ballet méca¬nique alla Léger (suggerimento di Castellani)", cercando di far emergere, mediante l'uso del grottesco, l'ironia e l'illuminante sarca¬smo che pervadono tutta l'opera, fino a coinvolgere tutta la platea nella grande scena del Congresso dei Tui. "Turandot" – Fisciano University CUT As we may know, the Brecht's Turandot is not the cruel princess, who is against every men; she is different from the beautiful and haughty princess described by Gozzi. On the contrary, she is a passionate woman who loves intellectual men. Even a well-turned sentence can turn her on. She thinks that she will find her sweetheart among Court intellectuals (the TUIs, which stands for Tellekt-Ual-Ins). However, the great thinkers that she met (despite their talent and cleverness), did not manage to conquer her heart. Indeed, she falls in love with a bandit, who makes his living stealing and extorting money. He is rude and depraved, but he is a man of resolution. With levity and humor, this play explains the audience how bias are introduced into us. If the TUI-thought is false, useless or harmful, our solution would be: "This is a false thought, so it is better not to think" (without making any difference between a true and a false thought). Epilogue: people are deceived twice and they are defeated by TUIs who are corrupted and cheaters. I think that Turandot was the best play for all those students who trusted me (and I thank them for this) and who are studying to became the intellectuals of the future. As to the staging, we followed Brecht's suggestions: acting needs to have a quick rhythm. As to the set designing, we decided to use a basic design, trying to leave room for irony and sarcasm. These elements are always alive, and they manage to involve the whole audience during the well-known scene at the TUIs Conference. La compagnia teatrale Nell' anno 2007 il rettore dell'Università di Salerno affida al maestro Carpentieri la costruzione del Centro Universitario Teatrale all'interno del Teatro del Campus di Fisciano da anni chiuso anche alla pratica degli studenti. In questi 2 anni le attività del C.U.T. (corso base-pratiche di teatro, officina dei mutamenti-spazio di ricerca, rivista polimorfa di teatro, stagione teatrale) hanno coinvolto un numero sempre crescente di studenti e professionisti. La Compagnia dell'Ateneo si è costituita nell'ottobre del 2008 e ne fanno parte 20 studenti, molti hanno chiesto di farvi parte a seguito del corso base, desiderosi di continuare e approfondire il percorso formativo, altri sono stati scelti a seguito di un provino tra gli studenti che ne avevano fatto richiesta. E' un gruppo affiatato, con tante differenze al suo interno, che sta imparando il rigore e scoprendo il piacere della ricerca. The University Theatre Company In 2007 the dean of Salerno University entrusted Maestro Carpentieri with the task to create the CUT (University Theatre Center) within the Fisciano University Theatre, which had been closed for many years. In the last two years, the CUT activities have expanded (basic theatrical courses workshops, research, theatre magazine, theatre season, etc…), involving a growing number of students and artists. The University Theatre Company was founded in 2008; it is composed by 20 students. Many of them decided to become part of it following their attendance of the basic course, because they wanted to keep on studying this subjects. Other students were selected on the basis of a screen-test. It is a group that gets along well, despite the many differences among its members, who are also discovering the pleasure of research. |
